A bilateral condition is a condition that can occur on both sides of the body. You can learn more about bilateral conditions here.
If you have a 'per condition' type of policy with us the limits will apply as follows:
- If a condition is diagnosed on both sides of the body at the same time, this will be classed as one condition and therefore a single per condition limit would apply. In the case of the bilateral conditions, it is common for vets to check both sides of the body at the same time to spot issues early and give treatment for both together.
- If the condition is not present at first claim but develops later, this would be considered a new, separate condition.
